Re: WorldCard Business card scanner in action.
It works best with plain white cards that follow good standards. If you try using it on a "fancy" card with background images or weird fonts, it struggles picking out letters and words. Cool little program though, and it is only in Beta so maybe they'll iron out some of the kinks yet.

Re: WorldCard Business card scanner in action.
Could this concept be extended to text recognition for regular text from a book or something?

Re: WorldCard Business card scanner in action.
It's been reading the cards well but I don't see where it gives you options on how to file your card into your contacts. It keeps getting sent to "No Name" in my contacts list, even though it correctly identifies the company names. Any ideas?

Re: WorldCard Business card scanner in action.
This program works well and I admit I was certainly impressed with it but the program is still in beta, at least on my phone. If I go to the about for this software it says "WorldCard Mobile For Test Only" then lists the beta version.
Don't get me wrong, it's neat software, but using beta software that's "for test only" as a selling point of a phone just doesn't seem right. |
