Well, here is a update.

Picked up my wife's dead TP from her at work and brought it home. Plugged it into my TP's wall charger. I just took it off the charger. It's holding its 100% charge and is cool to the touch.

i have no idea why it did what it did last night?????? This PDa has a mind of its own.

I tried that twice. Made absolutely no difference.

My Touch Pro has pathetic battery life as well. I don't use any Push email or anything. On standby it loses 10% of it's power every 2 hours. Ridiculous! I have to charge it several times a day with minimal to no use.

Either there are a lot of defective Touch Pro's or there needs to be a firmware update, pronto. I remember the Mogul having battery issues until a firmware update gave it amazingly long battery life. I'm hoping a firmware fix will work. I'm debating exchanging my Touch Pro for another, but I don't think a new one will have any better battery life.

BTW, my Touch Pro is usually cool to the touch, and my battery drains really fast either way. I've also had situations where it doesn't charge. I think the temp sensor is way too sensitive or faulty, mine only gets warm with heavy use. My old Touch gets warmer and has never had charging cut off ever.

Re: My TP battery/charge issue

I'm returning mine today, hopefully for an exchange if they have one left.
I've hard reset, and changed everything except outlook to manual update. Outlook i changed from pushed to 30 minutes which for me is on the verge of unacceptable.

Yesterdays battery life: full charge at 3:30
25 minutes of sprint navigation
10 text messages
8 emails
5 phone calls (1 min, 3 min, 8 min, 1 min, 3min)
DEAD POWER OFF at 7:40

I dont want to hear any bs about battery conditioning. Based on the above usage I would expect AT LEAST 10-12 hours of battery. Right now I have a portable multimedia device that requires a power teather to use and for me that is useless.
