Yes... if you were roming on analog.... but those days are past and gone... You will not use any more power on digital roaming than you would on your home carrier.

yep. ive had this change for about a week now, and i defintely see an improvement in my phone's battery while im at work. i hated how my phone would just bounce from one tower to another tower pretty much every couple of mins and drain the battery in the process.

Does this also apply to data roaming? (no extra battery drain?)

For the past couple days, my signal at work has been weak. Could this be the explanation why my battery drained from 90% to 20% in a matter of 1-2 hours? My phone was very warm and I made sure I had no programs running. I did a soft restart and it was still the same...

Re: Roam Only

Nope, it wasn't set to Roam Only. Today, I have a full strength signal... but the past couple days, it was 1 bar or none. I wasn't using it at all... I just felt it get warm like when I watch Youtube.

Re: Roam Only

Ok, if your signal is weak or fluctuates to much, you will notice battery drainage even if the TP is just chilling. And that is why we have the Roam only cab, if you set it to Roam your Tp wont be looking for signal assuming your Roam signal is strong. Downside, you wont enjoy evdo unless teh third party allows it. Utube will get your TP hot as any other movie watching over the internet, some get really some dont

Re: Roam Only

Also if you are in a low signal area switch to 1x mode and it will save tons of battery. I find when my phone is changing From 1x to EV it drains the battery worse than anything.

Re: Roam Only

Does anyone else get the connecting to network constantly?
Mine doesn't seem to lock up to 1X, and keeps searching for signal... Is there any fix to this or am I the only one experiencing it?
