Re: Any good sites for docks and accessories yet?

where is there a good place to buy a holster case with same dimensions as the stock case but with magnetic closure instead of velcro?

i hear a lot of discussion about the seido holster but it appears that it is a little longer than the TP.

Eascase is nice but a little pricey for me. I see a cheap case at cellphoneshop for $5 but am not sure if it is magnetic or velcro.

Smile Boxwave aluminum case

Got the Boxwave aluminum case for the Sprint TP - had one previously for the Mogul. It fits really nice - only issue is that they put a clear plastic facing in to cover the screen - it isn't needed for a touch screen phone. I just carefully popped it out and replaced the soft sided adhesive around the edges on the inside. Easy to get at the stylus and there are cutouts for all areas on the phone. I highly recommend it if you want an aluminum case.

Re: Any good sites for docks and accessories yet? - Updated to include pics.

Hey Guys:

I’ve been buying a few accessories for my Touch Pro lately and I wanted to give you guys a couple of reviews.

Fist up is the Seidio Spring Clip Holster for the Touch Pro (http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductD...Code=HLHTCH2AS). First impressions of the clip, I was a little hesitate to put my valuable Touch Pro into a holster. I hate scratches on my phones and the possibility of my TP falling out and hitting the ground was the first thing to cross my mind. However, I was truly impressed the design of the holster. I’ve used Seidio products in the parts, so I wasn’t too surprised that this clip was actually manufactured with a lot of thought going into it.

The Look & Feel:

Seidio seems to have kept the soft rubber feel of its products in tact. This holster is extremely sturdy. I love the fact that the screen goes in first in order to protect it from all scratches and prying eyes. There is a soft micro-fiber covering inner back of the holster to protect the screen even more and to also keep the holster from scratching the screen as well.

Spring Clip:

I actually set there opening and closing the clip for about 15min just t seeing it loosened up an at all (my wife thought I was crazy). I was surprised that the spring still seemed as tight as when I took it out the box. The clip has a small hook that comes around and rest on the battery door of the TP. I would have liked to the clip to be a little tighter on the battery. However, I think the reason it isn’t so that it allows for you to use the Innocase along with the holster. I thought that was a great idea. I didn’t noticed that there appears to be a small rubber piece on the end that appears to be removable. I thought it may have been an additional safety feature when used with the Innocase, but I don’t see and opening on the back of the Innocase for it. (Hint)

Edit: After reviewing the Seidio website I noticed that there is Spring Clip Holster specifically for the Innocase.

Functionality:

The belt clip is extremely sturdy and tight. It’s actually a little hard to turn. This is a great thing. That way you don’t have to worry about it constantly turning upside down on its own (I HATE THAT). My TP is always in the correct position when it comes time answer the phone. At first I thought getting my TP out of the holster to be a challenge. But after carrying it around in the holster for a week, it got to be pretty easy.

Cons:
I would like for the Spring Hook to be a little tighter on the battery cover.
The $29.95 price tag seems high but is defineately worth it.

All in all I give the Seidio Spring Clip Holster a “A-“.

Re: Any good sites for docks and accessories yet?

Got my Innocase and Horizontal Case (not the new one's built for innocases and extended batteries).

Innocase Review:
+feels nice
+quality feel
+no visible gap between screen and keyboard

-minor grating when sliding the phone, very minor whereas my ebay hard rubberized case had no grating (but it showed more chrome)
-top piece that covers the screen/face is thicker than the piece that covers the keyboard. there's not a flushed feeling when the phone is closed.

Horizontal Leather Holster
+very nice leather
+top flap "snaps" into place securely
+fits the TP with innocase perfectly, slides great

-HUGE compared to stock OEM Mogul leather holster I had before
-BIG CON (for me at least) unable to charge phone when TP is in the holster. The side elastic band gets in the way.

If I had to do all this again, i would stay with the ebay hard rubberized case and maybe spend more time to find a leather holster that isn't so big and has room for the charging cable to fit.

I had the Best skin ever on my TP and the innocase would not snap on without being very tight and putting undue pressure on the little tabs of the case, so I ditched the skin and the innocase fit like a glove. this is the best case/cover I have ever owned for any device period.

I got this. Hope you don't mind, I clipped out stuff NOT relevant to my comments.

I prefer a "universal" post type clip over any of the gut poking, never fit your belt built in spring clips.

So...

the first thing I did was remove the spring clip completely from the holster. Then, I trimmed up one of those "universal" posts to fit between the top of the arch and the "post hole" that was left after I removed the clip assembly. In the pic above, you can see the "arch" behind the clip.

Once I got it where I wanted, I put a touch of superglue to hold it so I could drill a very small hole (matches rivet) then put a pop rivet thru it for a secure permanent mount.

Of course, you now have a little rivet and hole on the felt side.

You can fix this 2 ways. For a temp fix, I put a strip of black elec. tape over it and verified the screen did NOT touch. It doesn't. That area is indented. For a perm fix, I got some of the very thin sticky felt at a crafts store and stuck it on. Works well. Works with all of the "universal" belt clips, accessory holders, car mounts, bike mounts, etc.

Re: Any good sites for docks and accessories yet?

Ok so i took advantage of the valentines 10% discount from seidio and ordered 2 innocases for my phones and 1 spring clip.

Of course they're great, but not the best, here are my complains so far:

- Volume buttons has terrible access. Was just as bad as with the titan's scroll wheel.
- There most definitely is a bevel around the screen, while not as bad as on the titan (even without the case) it is there, they could have developed the case to make it easier to use.
- Spring clip is very sturdy, but doesn't seem custom to the touch pro. It seems like the edge of the clip is too low for the phone so you really have to open the clip up or apply plenty of pressure, something that wasn't necessary with the titan clip.

For those wanting to argue pressure = saftey, for over 2 years with the titan in it's clip, it never fell out while on my motorcycle. So so much pressure isn't necessary.

Last thing, the blue case is cool, but it's like the DIY color jobs where it's purpleish, not true blue. The grey case is totally bad A.-A.-S. though. I only bought one clip because the holster i was using before ($.99 store purchase) will be the new home for my 2nd tp. The original TP case is hard to use with the innocase. (That case is a POS anyways).

Everything else is B to the itchen!

Re: Any good sites for docks and accessories yet?

Anyone try this?

http://www.talkietech.com/touchproholster-4109.html

$8 bucks, screen faces out. Not nearly as robust a clip as the seido.
