Re: Touch Pro Build Date

I just got back from exchanging my TP (build date = 10/13) at Best Buy only to find out my new one has a build date of 10/15...

I tried doing a ##786# before activation to see the build date, but it doesn't load that far because it can't get past not having a phone number set up. Is that the ONLY way to tell the build date because I want to get one with a build date around November sometime...

Yeah there is one store here that is out of stock and I figured that I would just wait for them to get them in but the thing is my 30 day return is up on 11/24. I'm hoping they get something in soon!!

FYI. BB has a HUGE stock of these "older" phones just sitting in their warehouse. My BB got in 4 separate shipments, even after being out of stock. They all ranged from 10/12 to 10/15.

It might have changed by now, but I don't care, since I returned the phone and got it through Sprint.

True. My BB got 35 TPs on the first day. They always have had tons of them, (when they weren't out of stock.) Which happened 3 times already, and lasted about a week each time.

You can easily get to the ##786# without activating. Just let the phone boot/customize. As soon as it comes up, run the code.

On that note, I'm on my 5th TP, 11/7/08, again, and this time, it seems to run a bit cooler, and the earpiece is much better (still not as good as any other phone I have ever owned.) The speaker is louder, (stock,) and the phone build quality is much better.

The screen, sadly, is one of the most unresponsive that I have ever used--even with sensitivity hacks. Most of the time, when scrolling through contacts, one of them gets selected, unless I push really hard. Also, the borders of the screen are terrible. If I open up notes and draw with the stylus to the edge of the screen, it stops about 1/4" from the side. If I jam the stylus into the screen, I can force it to work, but damn... that sucks
