10/19/08... didnt have the speaker volume issue, although i did do a hard reset as soon as i took it out of the box. havent had many issues with this yet.

The earpiece is just NG. I've put my name in at BB to get it replaced as soon as they get more stock in NYC. I'm hoping that they'll have the newer builds.

I had a chance to replace with a few 10/13 units but I didn't want to take the chance.

yea, it would be wise to just suck it up and wait a week or two before you replace it. that way, you can have newer stock.

Run that by me one more time. You say there is no correlation between dates and earpieces, yet you just proved in your own post that there is, infact, a correlation.

older than 10/15= high likelihood of defect
10/15 or newwer, high likelihood of good earpiece

I have had 3 TPs. 10/13, then 10/12, and finally 10/14. All of them have a "raised D-pad." It's to match the screen protector. How much taller is it than your screen (with protector?)
