I didn't read the thread but my second line wasn't under a contract. I upgraded the second line with the TP in the store and called as soon as I got home to switch them.

Easy as that.

incorrect. Best buy doesn't deal with rebates, they cut the price then and there. There is no waiting period. I changed the phone a few hours after getting it.

I just did the same thing. Had two numbers, wanted the pro, bought the pro obn a new line then did a phone # swap with tech support. Now I have 3 phones. But one is going to be used by someone else and they're picking the bill up. I'll downgrade my everything plan from the new line and use that as my business line, and upgrade my personal line to everything plan.

i told the girl at best buy to not activate the phone, so when I got home I activated it on a different account then what I purchased it on

This is not true, I purchased my TP on my brothers line that was eligible for the upgrade price. I got home from Best Buy and swapped it to my line, I have done this several times on phones purchased at BB and have never run into any problems with it.
