Re: Tethering with WMWifiRouter .91

Well I can get 1.20 working but not .91 even after the ics install. I get the error waiting for ICS and it sits there, although it boots up ICS and enables it.

As far as paying for the app, I would except it costs 30USD. That is beyond what is reasonable for this software, seeing as I can already tether via USB cable. I guess I will continue to work on .91 and/or the other program ICS control

First install this ICS then install wmwifirouter

ICS will create an icon in programs, and it also replaces the current ICS installed just delete the extra icon and you are good to go

both which can be found here

The only thing I had to do was make the reg edit to the preinstalled ICS to have it connect to "Sprint" rather than "Phone as Modem", install WMWifiRouter v0.91, and everything works just fine. I can now tether with WMWifiRouter or via ICS using a USB cable (haven't tried BT yet).

New WMWifiRouter reads TP Battery Temp

I don't know if this has already been posted, but I just checked the WMWifirouter website on the off chance that they've modified some things, and turns out the new version seems to report the Touch Pro's battery temperature properly. I'm showing 31.9C here which seems reasonable.

Sorry if this is old news.

Quote:
One important fix is the temperature read-out for CDMA-based HTC Diamond and HTC Touch Pro devices. These two devices report temperature in different units than most other Windows Mobile devices, which could cause WMWifiRouter to shutdown automatically to prevent your battery from overheating.

Re: New WMWifiRouter reads TP Battery Temp

did they ever make it so it will work on PS3 and stuff? (ps3 wont use ad hoc networks so all they need to do is make it seem like a regular router)

It's still ad-hoc only.

Re: New WMWifiRouter reads TP Battery Temp

wmwifirouter will definitely burn your phone up. I left it on for like 30min accidentally and it was hot as hell. Also, it just sucks the battery power out like it was some vampire sucking someone blood. The phone will be hot until i reboot the phone. NO GO!

Re: New WMWifiRouter reads TP Battery Temp

i use it all the time, just put it in front of the fan, but its winter now so i just put it on the window sill where its cool and crack the window. never overheats, always stays 100% and also i disable the backlight while on external power as to eliminate another battery drain
