Re: Sprint Touch Pro Stock Screen Protector a Major PITA to install
How do you dry the SP after cleaning it? I tried the magazine trick, and it still seems to get cruddy looking...

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Stock Screen Protector a Major PITA to install
Finding this thread makes me feel so much better! I was feeling like an idiot. Within the first hour of owning the phone, I managed to get the protector on fine except for one dust bubble which I should have left alone - because when trying to fix it I had a "fat fingers fumble" - and ended up with dust and pet hair all over the sticky side.
(on a side note, do you suppose it is the same cosmic forces that cause toast to fall to the floor butter-side down this causes the protectors to always land sticky-side down?) I tried washing mine, and had the same trouble getting it clean (although it did stay sticky). I then used it as a template on a WrightRight universal protector I had around the house - and managed to scratch the original in the process. I'm not crazy about the protector - and I cut it a bit too big so that it doesn't lay well. Guess that could be causing my frustration with the touch "responsiveness" (it's extremely inconsistent and is driving me nuts). I'll try out some of those recommended above. |

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Stock Screen Protector a Major PITA to install
I got my device screen clean, finally, but I can't get this stupid protector clean. Washing it to no avail, I got it mostly clean but there are stil spots where it is horribly dusty. It is soaking in distilled water right now so hopefully I can pull it out and just put it on and have it turn out fairly well.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Stock Screen Protector a Major PITA to install
Got it installed with no problem. I had some leftover spray solution (along with the squeegee) from my Mogul InvisibleShield. Meticulously cleaned the screen so there were no fingerprints and dust.
Went on like a glove and just waiting for it to dry underneath (from the spray solution). No bubbles, no dust and it is extremely smooth when using your finger. I'll leave this on until I feel I need an InvisibleShield. Last edited by MadlyAlive; 10-29-2008 at 08:33 PM. |

Re: Sprint Touch Pro Stock Screen Protector a Major PITA to install
It sends up being somewhat cloudy on the phone it seems like, from the liquid under it maybe? It's not actually on the phone, I put it on half of my ipod touch screen to see, and you can noticeably see where the protector is, it is a little bit blurry.
I'm trying to find a replacement, but I may just be going bare screen until then. I just don't want my screen to get all scratched up. :-/ |
