Yeah, that is the exact way that I am doing this. I changed all the file sizes in the windows viewer, sync'd them over to my Touch Pro, went in through edit mode on the specific contact and changed the picture there. When it shows up, it looks the same as when I was adding them using Outlook.

Does .jpeg vs .gif or .png, etc. make a difference? I am using .jpeg....

Thanks, I also picked up S2U2. Google helped me out figuring whether the TP is VGA or QVGA... for those wondering, it is VGA.

EDIT: I added the pics to the contacts using S2V and the pixelation is gone! One thing that I am not sure of though is whether it is because I also moved the pics from my storage card to the device... Either way, I am good to go, thanks all.

Re: Fav. Contacts Pics look horrible!!

FWIW, the same thing can be done with the built-in Album from TF3D.

1. I just put 480x640 images in the "Personal" folder that syncs with the device (look for 'yourname's Smartphone' in the My Documents Folder.) Then sync your device to get them on it.

2. Browse the album from the TF3d interface.

3. Find the picture you want to add to a contact and view it full screen

4. Tap once to get the menu, then hit the bottom right icon and select "Save to Contact"

5. Find the contact you want and select it.

You're done!

The downside to this is that the "People" tab moves MUCH more slowly with high-rez pictures. Possibly using smaller pics (240x320) would alleviate this - but they don't look nearly as nice!

The reason this seems to happen is because Outlook only supports very low resolution pictures associated with contacts. Your new high-rez versions are downsized when they sync to outlook, but will continue to be high-rez on your device.

I haven't tested this, but I do not think this association will survive a hard-reset - so keep that in mind when you start attaching your entire contact list.
