Re: Hard Reset??

I got it to work twice yesterday.... Just keep the volume down button + the enter and hit the power button after and hold all 3, don't let anything go and it will give you the warning screen. Make sure the phone is off when you do it. Took me about 6 trys before I got it, but it works none the less!

Re: Hard Reset??

i can't get it to load winmo clean.... it won't hard reset by doing the volume up + enter + power; and when you reset device in the settings it just keeps doing the first launch customizations every time you soft reset, no matter when you soft reset.

if anybody has any ideas of how to load winmo clean, please post.

i think i've isolated the registry entries so that we can get a clean install; they're going to be in
\HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\FLASHDRV\

now i gotta figure out what each does....

You must let customizations run ! If you soft-reset after a hard reset when it's telling you it's about to do them, it will hard-reset the phone. I'm sure this can be hacked but for now, I guess we have to deal with it. I did it fine on my diamond, but this wont let you hard-reset without running the customizations, it tells you it's about to in 3 seconds and then you soft-reset but then just goes back to a "setting up your phone for first use" in red. It's not like on the diamond, hard reset, soft reset and another soft reset and your good.

You hitting the wrong buttons, it is Volume down + enter, then hit the power and hold..

but you still can't do a clean install that way, right? i'm guessing it still cycles and makes you run the customizations.

I had tried and tried and I think the only way for the phone to run IS to have the customizations run. I have yet see someone skip it.

Tryin' to do a hard reset and it doesn't get me to the page it says in the manual. It gets to this Security unlocked page that has red white and green and a bunch of information, but nothing about deleting all personal data...etc... (like it says in the manual).

Anybody have any suggestions?

Make sure you are pressing Volume Down rather than Volume up.

The phone must be OFF, not just pressing the power and turning the screen off, but hold down the power button and turn it physically OFF when it says do you want to power off the phone.

Then do the volume down+enter+power button.
