You do not need one for the laptop . If you are unsure about changing the parameters in audiopara leave it alone coz that will coz you a crash. I assume you have a back up solution in your TP.

what I meant to ask, will the install of Total Commander I used on the laptop work on the PRO when I copy it over, or is there an install that is for Windows mobile?

an attempt at installing Total commander to the pro after copying it over returned a not a valid mobile file message.

I am very new to windows mobile based phones (this is my first one). I used GoodThings2life cleanup. It is great, TF is extremely sensitive now (my iphone crazy freinds are reconsidering their love!). I had a question regarding the bluetooth though. When I got the phone out of the box, the volume was too low; however with my plantronics 925, it sounded great. I installed the clean up with loud audiopara first. But it was too loud for me. Then I installed only the light audiopara cab from this post. The phone volume and sound quality is perfect. However, when I use the plantronics with it, people on the other end complain that my voice quality is really poor (sounds like an old loudspeaker ). I have been using the same bluetooth with my previous phone and it has been great. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated..

found the cab installer~~ all is working great now!! and the mobile version of total commander is a lot sweeter the the PC based

Can anyone tell me how much up I can put the speaker in the audiopara3 file. I used HEX DEC: 9000 but still I its not loud enough. Can I put it higher without any risk? Or can somebody post the values for F12-F16 just for the incall volume?

I am on Day #2 of this phone. It is ridiculous to me that I have to go through all this work to make something so basic as the volume be acceptable. Seriously, do I need to download any custom file so I can make telephone calls? Or does that come out of the box working? blah.

I agree with addicted23.. it is quite low qc on HTC's part to let phones with such low volume go through

And, FWIW, maybe this is a piece of cake for more expert users, but it took me a full 45 minutes to work through this thread and get the file installed! Looking back, I guess it was all easy, but as someone who has never had a windows mobile device (or smartphone for that matter), getting the steps in the right order was a struggle.

I still can't get over the fact that this is a problem with many/most phones out of the box. How in the world does that happen? It makes me wary how the phone will hold up over a 2 year contract period if HTC lets something like this out.

The loudness is much better now, but I have only tested it inside my home and I wonder how well I will be able to hear in a louder environment like driving or walking outside. I was hoping it would be blaring at the top setting but the top setting now only seems average to me.

But thanks for the file. This phone would have been returned without your update but now I'll give it a good 2-3 week try. HTC should send you a tip

Note, I have never returned a phone so I woudln't consider myself picky either...... that volume was just purely unacceptable.
