status: The laptop sees the phone.. I click on it and it shows a folder tree with phone again. Clicking on the phone allows access to the entire folder tree.. I just did a copy and BU of the factory file. but when I go to copy it says active sync may need to convert files etc etc... total commander still does not see the phone. it does show a e drive which should be the phone.. but selecting it has not luck

Ritch, don;t torture your self man, copy the file to your SD, disconnect from laptop and then copy/past using total commander on your TP. You gotta hit menu and make sure the "show sll files"is checked.

Status: Laptop sees the PRO in the drive tree selecting it brings up the PRO dir tree. clicking on PRO icon in that tree allows access to WINDOWS folder. autosync gives warning saying it might have to convert file if I paste it.
Total commander shows an E drive which should be the pro but will not access it

are you saying I should install total commander on the pro?
I have the file on the sd but when I attempt a copy and paste it prevents it
I can copy and paste from the laptop..but autosync is giving a possible change of file warning

Total commander must be installed on the TP. It is the vehicule that will transport your audiopara and overwrite the existing one under windows. Roger that?

You do not need one for the laptop . If you are unsure about changing the parameters in audiopara leave it alone coz that will coz you a crash. I assume you have a back up solution in your TP.

what I meant to ask, will the install of Total Commander I used on the laptop work on the PRO when I copy it over, or is there an install that is for Windows mobile?

an attempt at installing Total commander to the pro after copying it over returned a not a valid mobile file message.
