Re: Killed the battery already.
My Seidio battery and the manuals of multiple electronics I've read will contradict themselves by both telling you LiIons shouldn't be run down all the way and also telling you you won't reach full life until you've drained the battery fully the first few times. I'm just telling you what I've read time and again. It drives me crazy, and it's a direct contradiction, but I continue to see it.

Re: Killed the battery already.
The TP battery is 1340 Mah, I believe the Diamond batt is 1000.
EDIT: Just looked on Engadget, and according to them the TD battery is also 1340

Re: Killed the battery already.
The original GSM Touch Diamond comes with a 900mah battery. The Sprint and Telus Touch Diamond both come with 1340mah (the same as the Touch Pro). The Diamond probably will get better battery life due to not having camera flash and a keyboard.

Re: Killed the battery already.
I ALWAYS take my phone right out of the box and play with it til the battery dies, then do a full charge... never have had any issues...
Anyway... I'm kinda nervous about the battery life... But at the same time, I put my Mogul on the charger every single night. When I don't though, I get about two days usage.

Re: Killed the battery already.
you get TWO days usage with ur mogul when you dont charge it up all the way. WTF?
i charge it EVERY night and cant get that at all...not even a full day -Chez |

Its the SAME battery or nearly 99% identical hardware (a flash led and a few keyboard LEDs, not huge draw). The battery life wont be any better than the Diamond for people worried about it or coming from a Diamond thinking the Pro will be the saving grace device. It seems from reading around people seem to think for some reason the Pro is the end all of devices compared to the Diamond when the internals are almost identical on identical batteries. If someone didnt like the Diamond outside of needing a keyboard or memory card slot, they arent going to like the Pro either as theyre nearly identical otherwise fro those 2 major features.. |

Re: Killed the battery already.
critical said sprint picked the 2400 Mah for the battery for the TP. i guess i will have to keep the diamonds battery when returning it. so with 2 i can go to a full day.

1) Full capcity of Li-Ion is available immediately. In fact, available capacity decreases due to increasing internal resistance per charge cycle. 2) I wouldn't trust a manual for an aftermarket battery... and I haven't read any manuals for Li-ION batteries that suggest discharge cycles. The most I've seen them suggest is that the gauge may not be calibrated until a full discharge cycle, because the battery needs to measure timing accoring to your use... Note that this is only useful for devices that have a time remaining gauge... which phones don't have. 3) Li-ion batteries come charged for a reason, because if they are stored with no charge, they will quickly be damaged. 4) The biggest enemies of Li-Ion battery life are time, temperature, and discharge cycles, and depletion. This means - don't leave your battery lying around at a high temperature, use your charger when you can (but don't charge your phone for small periods of time, this raises the temperature, only charge when you know for SURE that you have time to fully charge the battery), and don't do wacko things like "deep discharge" your batery, because you WILL irreversibly damage the Li-Ion cells. Especially dont let the voltage drop below the threshold. Also, don't store the battery at 100% charge, because this will reduce the life as well. I want to re-iterate that the reason you leave it on the charger when you can is that discharge seems to produce a significant amount of heat due to internal resistance, which probably screws with the battery life, Even though you will be storing the battery at 100% as a result, this is better than generating heat and discharging the battery. Of course, if you are going to store this as your spare battery, discharge it to 40%, then store in a cool place!
