For future reference, PLEASE DO NOT quote excessively long posts! It takes VERY long to load on phones, and creates excessive scrolling on your computer.

BTW, critical I really appreciate the info.

So basically, it's possible? How does it look at the curved areas show in the picture below? Or did Sprint decide to flatten it?

The curves are what the issues are good back view of the pic though, Allows me to explain better, If you view that a image and compare it to the other image HTC provides on the website the curves are off by mm's which is the pain but HTC sent a email requesting more information on the accessory IDEA so I wonder what they may do.

YAY! Does IDEA stand for anything, or it just idea?

So does that mean HTC is considering designing a Diamond style Pro battery cover? If so, could you PLEASE do everything in your power to approve the idea? Or promote it to your boss by saying something like 'It will help their marketing because it is unique and stylish'

Already ahead of you, when i saw the backing buisness casual come to mind, ( figures Sprint ), Me i love the diamond backing, here's how I put the idea

Explained to HTC and sprint, that it could be a likely be profitable, It would count as a accessory for the phone and allow customization to the phone - Something sprint lacks currently and needs, Explained also if a battery cover was lost instead of replacing it at cost to sprint a customer could purchase that cover if they perfer ( another profit ). Then to my amazement sprint agreed with no questions asked except would it be possible to do different colors and could the factory cover be available, then there was also the question of covers, I then brought up that the phone design is ment to be shown off but the back portion could be the key for design, Also explained this would be a useful way to promot the extended battery, sprint again agreed no questions asked, and for once there was a pause from HTC on the conference call ( can you say heaven? ). So its looking again so far but has not be comfirmed or put into design.

You just made my week! And it's been a pretty bad week... quarter exams, delayed monitor, etc.

Wow... I'm seriously SOOO happy!

So if all goes well, the back cover would be an optional accessory? I wonder when it will be available!

And I know this has probably been discussed before, but does the Pro have a backlit keyboard? If so, what color is the backlight?

Well one I feel like a retard not clicking the muti Q lol,

As for the accessory being released Im not sure its if HTC and Sprint agree to it.

Backlite keyboard is on the Pro, if im not mistakened its white due to that is what HTC normallys comes out with and thats what we have on our test model.

If they want to save money/time, they could design it specifically for sale with the extended battery (choice between diamond back and curved back w/ extended battery). And when considering the design, have it so that it can fit with the normal and extended battery.

Speaking of the extended battery and redesigned backing for that, were there any ideas of how much depth would be added to the phone? As of right now, being the same depth as the mogul is a plus for me, but if it gets a lot thicker, it'd make me not want to get the extended battery.

It will be around the thickness of the mogul with the extended battery but it will be a little smaller, Sprint wants the 2400 mAh i know that for sure.

Awesome! I'm in. Tell HTC and Sprint that if they do that and provide options for back-covers, they've already got one Touch Pro owner sold on the concept alone!...LOL.

I like the silver for sure. The diamond backing would be unique, so it'd be a hard decision for me. Anyhow, thanks again, Critical!
