this was my offer:

i actually got a htc touch in June 08 .... so i only had for about 5 months... after complaining about it ... they offered to take the phone back and credit my account $399 .... even though i only paid $99 for it after discounts... then i have to buy the touch pro full price , which i think is $599 ($50 more then diamond) ... $599 -$399 = $200

not really a great discount on the phone .. they are just taking back my touch after the 30 day window...

your lucky..even with my evp discount i still have to pay the 579 full price since i bought touch in december. i guess i wont be buying one soon.

That's because retail is $399 on the touch, and you already got those $200 discounts. So you won't get them again on the Pro. They could have credited $99, then just gave you the extra $200 off the pro, works out the same.

It makes sense because you paid $99 for the Touch, new sub price for the Pro is $299. $299-$99 = $200, it all works out. :P

yup .. i didnt get any additional discounts... they just honored by complaint that the device didnt support video/picture mail out of the box and offered a return after the 30 days ... so at least i can return even though i have had for 5 months.. i am still going to try and mail in the $100 rebate .. haha ... i feel like i have nothign else to say to get further discounts... they are returning the phone that i am complaining about and just charging me the difference... some of the mogul users have more to stand on .. since they got thier devices changed out a few times...

So are you all going through retentions or ecare? I am thinking aout Best Buy (especially if I can get it Sunday) but if I can get it $50-$100 cheaper over through Sprint that would be great.

So Best Buy's price could be $299 -20%+ tax=$255
Minus a $70 credit puts it around $180... Which is close to some of these retention (or ecare) deals.

i originally e-mailed asking for a swap for my two current phones for two Touch PROs...

negotiated a price of $249.99 pre phone and after all rebates of SAVE50 code on each line $100 and promised credit from eCare of $200, totaling $300 off the total price of $600 for two phones makes it to $300 plus tax.

i still get to keep my current phones, im selling the Mogul and Treo 755p on craigslist for a total of $370.

better than swapping.

Is the retail price of the Mogul going to drop immediately on or before November 2? eCare offered to let me exchange my Mogul for the TP, paying only the difference in retail price (579 - 549 = $30!). However, the deal will sour a bit if the retail price of the Mogul drops in the next two weeks. Do you guys think that will happen?
