Re: why the touch pro???
Anyone know what Sprint is going to charge for the Touch Pro? I know after all the mail in and instant crap the Diamond is $249 but trying to get an idea on the Touch Pro. Anyone?

From what I've read and understand, this is how the costs break down: $599 (retail) $75/150 (Depends on eligibility - Instant w/ 2 year renewal. Must be past 22 months of service on same phone) $50 (Additional Instant discount) $100 (Mail In Rebate) TOTAL $449 / $374 / $299 (each price, depends on eligibility on the 2 year instant rebate - e.g. not eligible / $75 / $150) |

Yup, so your final price (after MIR) will be the $374 total that I indicated. That additional instant rebate is being applied to the Diamond right now and is supposed to apply to the Touch Pro once it's released, also.

Thing is, if Dan Hesse's goal is to get Sprint to the top of the mountain when it comes to Customer Service, then I'd find it very hard to believe that they'd shun long time Sprint customers from receiving additional discounts (as a sign of "good faith" for loyalty). |

Re: why the touch pro???
I know a lot of people that still carry around paper planners and are happy, and i don't fault them. However for me, to be able to more easily read the internet and word document would be worth the upgrade alone. If I had another phone that did gps and read the internet well then I would wait to see how well sprint and wm continues to try and catch up with the iphone in a few categories, maybe wait to see if touch hd will hit sprint, despite the news otherwise. However, since I had a treo 700wx, I needed to upgrade for the gps and to be able to better use the internet when I can't use my laptop.
