Re: Touch Pro Video-Out Preview!

All I need is for someone to do a video review of how it works with the Nav and if it works flawlessly, I'll be hooked to getting this phone no questioin (no matter what issues are found).

Anything that'll help me use my NAV without the tiny screen will be awesome!

Re: Touch Pro Video-Out Preview!

With this TV-Out working it would make sence to look at Real VGA output even the PDA screen would be very smal the TV is big enough and the software allows to switch back and forth (with reset!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327830

And keep in mind the wireless audio/video signal transmitters whith which you don't need to sit 5inch infront of your TV.

Holy crap... you just gave me a crazy idea... I'm getting a new car soon, and I might get a custom TV installed. If I can get the right inputs, I'd be golden

Thing is, from the video out preview pics that you posted, it looks like there's only pre-set icons that you can click on to view on a monitor. I'm all about all-in-1 type devices, so I'm really hoping it is will be possible to view the NAV. If not, all would not be lost for me, but that is just an added bonus that I'd love to see happen.

And your idea, saumaun...that's exactly where I was going with it also, which is why I was looking into 5-7 inch portable monitors on ebay that had a/v inputs!...LOL. If you got a TV installed into your new car and made sure it had a/v input w/ rca output (to connect to your car stereo), you'd definitely be set! Technically, you could run the NAV (w/ the audio signal going to the car speakers) and view Google Maps / Mapquest or Yahoo Maps directions all at the same time. It would be ALMOST as good as having a portable nav...LOL.

I had a little 7 inch TFT LCD portable monitor that I used in my old car for gaming, paid like 70 bucks for it. I bought a velcro strap from Home Depot, stuck a piece on my dash, a piece on the back of the monitor, and I was in business! Talk about a inexpensive way for mobile entertainment. If I still had them both it would've been perfect for hooking up the Touch Pro to.

Yeah. I was looking at monitors on ebay like that.

Only thing is, I haven't found any monitors that had RCA a/v inputs. They're all the smaller A/V input.

Either way, I'm sure I'll be able to find one and I have time until the phone is released on Sprint, so as soon as I find one that'll work nicely, I'll post it on here.

Any word on a release date? I had my heart set on getting the Diamond, but been balking lately, especially since I purchased a 8gb microsdhc card for my Touch and knowing that the Diamond won't have a external slot for it, but after seeing this last night, I'm completely sold on the Touch Pro.
