Lightbulb Business Card reader & TV out..

Wondering if we will get these features on the CDMA versions.

Whoa, I mean business card reader, meaning scanner or sorts? This is kinda cool.. Retina, finger print scanning authentication anyone?

TV out.. now this has to be cool, plug into a viewing source and show your video presentation, power point, movies, slide shows..

Heres to hoping they don't do away with those..

Re: Business Card reader & TV out..

Business card readers are just software apps that utilize the onboard camera and OCR to input relevant contact info. Cool, but not hardware related. One carrier could include the application, while another does not. Which carrier did you see that is implementing a business card reader on their Pro?

*Hopefully* hardware won't vary significantly between CDMA and GSM versions (other than radio related hardware, of course). If it doesn't, then it is likely that TV-Out would be enable-able even if one carrier chooses to disable it. There's no telling until we have CDMA Pro's in our hands though.

Re: Business Card reader & TV out..

The video out appears to be composite video (yellow RCA connector)... if this is the case, it would probably not be of good enough quality for business presentations. But it would be cool to have a ripped movie play from your phone...

Sprint's comparison chart to Verizon has "business card reader" listed..

Was thinking too bad it does't have a IR, or you could hijack a projector somewhere hooked up to your phone and have it play a clip of your choice.. but I'm guessing if you could access your phone removely via wifi and have it play it would be fun too..

Sprint has an official announcement/listing of the Touch Pro? Do you have a link?

Probably referring to this:
http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/More...le-a_3021.html

Don't know how "official" it is.

Did the IR get dropped from the phone? I mean I never use it, but I could if I needed to.

aye, neither the touch diamond or the pro have IR - good riddance I say - I've only used it once or twice when I couldn't get bluetooth file xfers working for one reason or another....

So why say Good Riddance? It was a feature that even you used, some of us have used it even more. An improved phone should have an even better IR, like the Samsung i730 had, which could operate a TV accross the room, send files, etc. Personally, I loved using my IR to send a photo of a topless woman to a display Mogul in stores, then making it the background for the Today screen, then watching people's reactions when they are browsing phones and see the photo.

Why is everything that's wrong with this phone being brushed aside as irrelevant? Just wait till reality sets in once your using it, bugs, flaw, missing features, patches needed, no buttons, etc., etc. Some folks are acting like starry-eyed kids in love with some actress from afar.
