Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

official htc talk time is 6.3 hours for the 1340 mah battery in the Touch pro CDMA and
7 hours for the GSM version

http://www.htc.com/uk/product.aspx?id=55314

The CDMA Diamond with a 900 mah battery sports a 4.5 hour talk time... when it hits Sprint as the HTC Victor it'll have a 1340 mah battery bringing the total approx. talk time to 6.7 hours! ((1340/900)*4.5)

Honestly... livemesh, orb, and cloud computing in general is really leading me to the question "do I really need a microSD card slot or are 4 Gigs going to be more than enough?"

I might just go for the Victor(Sprint Diamond) instead of waiting for the Pro and that should hold me over until the Tegra devices come down in price.

you may be right, as i'm still using my 2gb card. but what I want to know is what's the battery life on data? what about bluetooth?
I've been wanting a bigger card to have more music readily available and don't really want to drain my mogul's oem battery more than I have to, but I could get 2x4gb for cheeper than 1x8gb, soo.. and 12gb or 16gb are on their way..

Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

In Europe there was a Vodafone internal test of the battery life for UMTS = EVDO REV A. It was 4h.
An the device supports micro SD up to the already defined 32GB standrad.

where'd ya hear that? i don't think Voda has a REV A network since they're a GSM carrier using HSPA and will move to LTE

Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

Simple, I got freinds working at Vodafone HQ in Duesseldorf Germany at the right place. The UMTS HSDPA radio consumes the most power in the GSM device. I have no idea about the CDMA device radio power consumption but I guess it will be similar and that would lead to 4h usage.

Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

yeah sorry, the first time i read your last post i didn't catch the umts = part so i apologize for that. and friends on the inside is a great source. and i think the CDMA technologies draw a little bit more power so when they stick a REV A chip in there we may see battery life go down a little bit

Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

I have a question that may have already been answered, but does it have a Lithium Ion battery -OR- Lithium Polymer? Because I think that will be more impactful on the battery life than 1340mAh vs 1500mAh. I did download the owners manual for the unlocked version (not CDMA), and it says 'Lithium Ion or Lithium Ion Polymer battery.' Any ideas?

Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

i only found the either/or as well. kinda makes sense because you can get either or for the mogul for example. I would think because of the extra cost associated with a Li-poly battery, it will probably be at the carrier's discretion as to what is going to be in the box, but you can also get extra batteries

I can't believe the 4gig would be your deciding factor for the diamond vs touch pro

4gig is quite a bit - the real reason for the pro is definitely the keyboard (and tv-out mmm).

Re: Htc Touch Pros Battery Life

As far as battery life goes I would be inclined to look at the "cousin" in the CDMA flavor: http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/HTC-...e-pa_2847.html instead.
