Video calling has been a major flop in the US - simply put, we don't really want it. While video phones when they first came out were a bit of a hit in other countries, they have always flopped big time here. When the US is ready for it (if ever), they will start including front facing cameras. I'd be very suprised to see devices in the US with front facing cameras any time in the near future.

GSM and CDMA are wireless phone network technologies. GSM devices use a SIM card and CDMA devices don't.

Actually, there are some CDMA networks that use something like a SIM card.
But the cards are just a "symptom" of the methods used by the network. For a nice explanation of the difference between them, look here. GSM=Global System for Mobile communications CDMA=Code Division Multiple Access
