i dont understand the point of this post.

The reason for the post, is to let ppl know some of the things Sprint is doing with future phones, I know alot of us have great discounts, deals or SERO plans, and well we will loose it when we purchase the phone.
Some one said purchase it with out a contract, but is that possible?

You'll be able to buy the phone without a contract, but that doesn't stop Sprint from putting in all the restrictions on your account (requiring the all everything plan, no SERO, etc) when you try to activate the phone (ESN swap).

Then you just paid an extra $300-$400 to not be locked into a contract, but still have the same restrictions. The requirements probably don't have anything to do with your contract term, but with the phone you have.

Weird, I always thought you could just ESN swap pretty much any phone you want onto your account.

I have grand-fathered Vision from years back, and I never officially upgraded to Power Vision... yet my M1 and my Touch have worked fine on my account--despite everyone telling me that I would have to change plans...
