Looks like from a review on the Diamond, these things have 64MB of the RAM dedicated to the graphics chip. So we are looking at 224MB of accessible RAM on the Touch Pro.. probably more along the lines of 128MB free RAM when you get down to what we will actually be able to play with.

Apparently the CDMA Touch Diamond will have 256MB RAM and 256 MB ROM, so memory really appears to be an issue with these TouchFlo 3D devices.

Sprinttouch08: I know exactly what I am talking about, in the same way ksemt7781 knows his stuff, so please don't talkback until you are sure of what you are talking about.

ksemt7781: It seems that since you have posted the pictures, you are currently considered 'the man' on the Diamond/Touch Pro. I am glad for the fact that whatever I say can be backed up by another Sprint employee. You are doing an awesome job.

Unfortunately for all of us who are waiting for the phones, the burgundy is final, believe me it sucks. I was upset when I saw it first, and then inquired about the options to change, no luck. The devices are pretty much final state, just some tweaks and hiccups needs to be fixed. I am pretty sure ksemt7781 knows or faced the hiccups. But all in all the phone is going to break barriers in the WinMo category in the US.

apparently not since you said the devices will have 2 cameras which they CLEARLY ,by the pics and Telus CDMA version on their site, wont have the front camera. No CDMA device will come with a front camera. So i DO clearly know what im talking about and questioning in you statement, do you?

Why wouldn't a CDMA device ever come with a front-facing camera? They could easily implement some sort of video-call system, even if it's not using the 1x network for the audio...

plus, it would be great for video sharing... even if it wasn't pure video calling...

A little info on the Sprint Diamond.

First, the burgundy back color most likely will not be on the released version.

Sprint uses the burgundy color on alot of testing devices. I recall an article of a 800w who made claims of the device being burgundy.. now we all know its going to be black.

I assume it will be the same with the Diamond.

also, if you would like to see what the back looks like, check out the 360 view of Telus's CDMA Touch Diamond.

they list alot of info on the phone aswell. (sprints most likely will be the same)

on current evdo networks they wont theres no plan to implement video calling in their plans anytime soon. Remember CDMA is behind in technology to the world in terms of those features. Also carriers are already capping data as is, not trying to open up a very data intensive feature. The carriers dictate "what we need" in the US stanglehold of wireless. its the same argument why they have 5,6,7,8mp cameras and were stuck on 2-3mp still, thats all they think we need. The other factor is cost. Removing unused components like that save money on building them, also allowing them to sell them for a price consumers will actually pay. if theyre too costly no one will buy them. the structure in europe is much different they give away phones like the iphone 3g and diamond because their monthly service is astronomical compared to what we pay

but we already know the diamond/pro wont have it from the leaked pics and Telus version posted above. Its very very clear it wont have this component on it. its a moot issue no matter what anyone says at this point its been removed by leaked pics and the same Telus version already on their site

I will definitely agree it's a moot point. I was just saying that that the network is capable of doing video-calling...perhaps just different than the optimal method...

ksemt7781, I just have a quick question for you. As a fellow employee of Sprint, I was just wondering how you got your hands on a beta Diamond as our store is currently beta testing the 800w. As far as my knowledge goes and everyone I've asked, you usually get to beta test a phone for roughly a month before it's release, sometimes sooner depending on when they have the hardware out. As was the case for the Curve, Instinct and now the 800w. The Diamond is over 3-4 months from it's supposed "offical" release. I even talked to my district manager, who talked to the Regional Manager and neither of them have heard of anyone getting their hands on that phone as usually, something that early would be in an execs hands. Kinda like how Gary Forsee had the Mogul before anyone one of us when we took the Pinnacle Club trip to Hawaii last year. Are you a little higher up on the foodchain than us or what?
