Well, this *should* work out of the box.

But have you checked the APN configuration? Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names.

Is there an APN in there? If not, add it. Menu -> New APN. Name is "Android" and APN is "internet". The remaining default settings should work. Then Menu -> Save and make sure the APN is selected on the last page.

I went back and double-checked the connection under WinMo and it's not working. Sorry about that, I should have double-checked that first. I thought is was working, but...
