Re: must have sweated into the earhole
It may be too late for this but...
Any time a phone has water damage, the battery should be promptly removed and the phone should be dried out for a couple of days. Some people say put it on rice, but we didn't notice a difference when we had a problem. The idea is to find a good desiccant. In any case, my wife used to use speakerphone and carry the phone under her bra strap. She decided to use this strategy when she was doing the breast cancer 5k. At the end of the walk, she noticed the phone wasn't working right, and saw that it was soaked. I don't know exactly when she took the battery out. However, after 2 days, it was working almost perfectly. One of the buttons or something isn't working right, but my wife says this problem isn't new. Unfortunately, now the water damage marker is smeared, so the only way to fix that would be to return it for insurance. But she is happy with it. So in any case just try and take the battery out and let it dry for a couple of days, unless you can't wait that long and just want to get a quick replacement for $100.
