Windows Mobile 6.5.5 Time bomb or activation fix!

hi i finally downloaded a rom that i like. but after about a week i got a message this edition will expire in 30 days or something like that.

Dose any one have a way to fix this?

You have to patch shell32.exe. More than likely it is already patched and you are just seeing the notifications.

and is there a way to get rid of the messages?

If you copy your shell32.exe to your desktop, you can use the utility found here then copy it back to your Windows folder. If you are cooking a ROM then use the utility on the S000 file within the shell32.exe module. Also if you are cooking, ervius's visual kitchen will automatically patch it.

On cecommander i can see it and copy it but it dosent copy!

is there a way to view the windows volume from my desktop?

Yeah sorry about that. I suppose since the file is a module, you can't copy it. I've never tried doing it this way. We can get the file from the SYS folder. What build are you running?

Even after the patch, I'm still getting the time bomb. I REALLY hope the message is benign.
