GPS Suddenly Not Working

Hey folks, I've been using my Telus Touch Pro's GPS daily over the last two weeks, and this morning while starting my running app (Records my route via GPS, my phone rebooted. Since it rebooted, I cannot get GPS to work at all.
  • I updated with QuickGPS, still nothing.
  • I flash danced (wipe memory, reflash, even used a second newer ROM) and still no effect.
  • Finally, I tried GPSTest and it can't even find the GPS reciever, which if memory serves, is COM4.

Everything worked great until this morning, now after a new ROM, another QuickGPS, GPS will not work. I've never had a problem, and its always locked on in under 30 seconds. Garmin, On Course, Google Maps, Crosschart GPS Test and HTC GPS Tool all have no success.

Is it even possible to burn out a GPS reciever?

Thanks for any input guys, I hope someone may know what is happening.

Re: GPS Suddenly Not Working

* UPDATE *

After rebooting, GPS Test found the GPS hardware, said Starting Up GPS...

And then the phone rebooted.

Am I finished?

Re: GPS Suddenly Not Working

My original TP's gps stopped working too, and would soft reset whenever I tried to turn it on using various gps software.
I ended up getting a replacement via TEP.
Hope you have better luck.

Re: GPS Suddenly Not Working

Well, good news! (At least for now)

I rebooted a few more times, and suddenly GPS works as it always did. Its back to responding, and locking in 10-30 seconds.

I have no idea what the problem was, but seems like GPS may be on the way out. For now, I'm grateful to have GPS back. It came back as mysteriously as it went away.
