Re: Javulticat 2016 Fix for Touch Pro - Works on custom ROMs

This is the message I got when running the Javulticat Timestamp Corrector (on Windows 7 32bit, if it helps):

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore the error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

'C:\Users\Shawn\Desktop\PIMBackup_20100422'"

If I click Details, I get this:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Re: Javulticat 2016 Fix for Touch Pro - Works on custom ROMs

Umm, you shouldn't be running it on your computer. You transfer it to your Touch Pro phone and run it from there...

I'm trying to run the .exe to fix text messages that already have the incorrect timestamp, which should be run on the computer according to Javulticat's instructions (bolding added by me):

The .cab WILL NOT fix messages that already have an incorrect 2016 timestamp. To do this:
  1. Download CorrectSMSDate (CorrectSMSDate.zip, below. Made by HTC, not me) and try running it on your phone.
  2. If it works, great, you're done! If it doesn't work, continue with the rest of the directions:
  3. Install PIM Backup on your phone.
  4. Backup your texts, making sure that "Binary Backup (faster)" is UNCHECKED.
  5. Transfer the resulting file (with extension .pib) to your computer.
  6. Download the Javulticat Timestamp Corrector (JTC.zip, below), extract it and run it. Requires .NET Framework 3.5
  7. Select the .pib file you just created with the "Import PIB File" button, then hit "Correct".
  8. When the file is corrected, the program will exit. You will see a .pib file with "_JTC" appended to the end of its name in the same folder as the original .pib file. (The original .pib file is left unaltered just in case something goes wrong.)
  9. Transfer this "_JTC.pib" file to your phone.
  10. Run PIM Backup and restore the "_JTC.pib" file, selecting to overwrite existing texts (should be selected by default).
  11. Done!

FlyingShawn,

First of all, yes, JTC must be run from your computer.

As for the error you received, did you rename the .pib file after it was created by PIB Backup? This may be the cause of the error.

Re: Javulticat 2016 Fix for Touch Pro - Works on custom ROMs

I didn't rename it, but I've since been able to figure out a fix without the JTC program. Ziggy's Excel method wasn't working for me (I think Excel wasn't saving the format correctly) either, so I worked out my own method using Notepad.

For those curious:
0)I'm using a Sprint Mogul, so I first ran the HTC official fix to correctly date new messages and keep me from having to do this all over again. Anyway, onto the instructions:

1) Extract the .csm per Ziggy's instructions (to save time, I only backed up the text messages in that .pib and backed up everything else in another backup)
2) Open it in Notepad instead of Excel
3) Do a Find & Replace to change all 2016's to 2010
4) Save it using Unicode Text (it might have given the file a .txt extension, I don't remember, but if it did I just renamed it to .csm)
5) Upload it back to the phone and restore using PPC PIM Backup (don't bother putting it back into the .pib, PIM Backup can restore directly from the .csm file)

Or you can just delete all of your old texts. Took me five seconds.
