Re: using phone as hotspot issue

there are a number of them available free.. sometimes called htc wifi router,..

there are many times when something hicups and throws the whole network services into a mess. other than hardreset, you just have to play around with uninstalling/reboot/ect.. and try connecting your phone to a real router then back... bla bla... if I actually knew what i've done to fix it there'd be a thread, but evertime i've 'fixed' it, it seemed like magic.

oh, but I bet the 'hotspot' app does succed in making a hot spot around the tp1 keep a fire extiguisher handy

Re: using phone as hotspot issue

Download WMWiFi Router... A LOT less hass than anything else I've tried. works VERY well! Of course, it's only trialware, price is like $30 but it will do exactly what you want.

Okay, I will ask the obvious question.

On the XDA forum, post #3 list devices that this app works on and there is a list of devices where this app does not work on. Are you running the stock Sprint ROM, if so it does not work?

It also sounds like it does not work for the stock Verizon ROM; I think there was another user trying it with Verizon TP.

I'm on Sprint, and have never used a stock ROM for any extended period of time. I posted on that XDA thread about how to get this working - at first it said I had no data cxn, so I created one under the work network section. Now the program just says connecting... when EVDO is connected and working. Did you figure something out? If so please share!

Damnit. Just flashed to the newest Energy ROM. Works fine now.
