With replacement, email sync fails

After 2 replacements for failed keyboards, I have finally gotten a new TP. The keyboard works...most of the time.

Anyways, I have my email set up, the same way I've always had it set up. 1 gmail account and 1 hotmail account. However, several times a day I get a windows mobile message saying the email sync has failed. I have it programmed to check every 15 minutes and sometimes I'll get an email that was sent over 3 hours previously. So for some reason, it is not syncing up with the server properly. However, SOMETIMES it does.

The inconsistency is what scares me. If it was not syncing up period, I would assume there was some stupid thing I screwed up. But again, I am using the same settings I have used since I had this phone. Any ideas?

This is a stock USCC TP with no tweaking on my end yet.

Edit: just happened again. Here is the message:
"Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct. Then try to download the messages again."

Again, sometimes this happens, sometimes the download works just fine.

Re: With replacement, email sync fails

I tried a hard reset, thinking that maybe something got screwed up in the initial set up. That didn't fix it.

This is quite irritating, getting emails sometimes 12 hours later than they were originally sent. I am reverted to checking email on a computer (I know, GASP!).

Any advice please?

I would flash a different radio. That may help keep a better connection, but I have no idea what kind of reception you're getting where you're at.

Another possibility is that you are receiving an sms or call when the phone wants to sync, and the connection is timing out.

Hmm, well I've always had full service at my apartment since the cell tower is only 2 blocks away and I'm on the 4th floor.

Do I have to unlock my phone to flash a radio? I've flashed many a ROM before but never a radio. My keyboard is starting to flake out (After only 1 week) so I might just send it back AGAIN.
