easy way to re-thread sms after PIM backup restore ?

First off, sorry if there is an obvious thread about this, but the only one I've found was on xda and I haven't been able to get it working.

Ok .. my problem is I backed up with PIM backup, flashed my rom, restored and text messages are no longer threaded.

I've tried the registry edit SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and the phone freaks out / locks up OR disables my threads, then when I delete the key or change the value to 0, it goes back to the same messed up order.

The only other way I know of is to sort through everything in Excel which I'd like to avoid.

If relevant I switched from a juicy rom to vetvito's rom on Telus.

Is there an easy way to re-thread my text messages ? Thanks in advance.

Thats weird...mine rethreaded after a new rom flash.

before you upload the back up go into start/settings/system/text messaging and turn threaded messaging OFF. install the backup then go back in and turn the threaded messaging back on. that should do it.

Woo thanks Mylt1, that worked. The setting was in start/settings/other/text messaging in this rom and it took a while to re-thread, but that's MUCH easier than the registry edit. I didn't even think of that being a setting. Thanks again.

Now I just gotta check out the 2016 thread and fix that.
