Help: how to undo a sync because it deleted my contacts?

So I wanted some numbers from another TP and made sure the setting was replace on desktop was selected in activesync, but later found out the phone had replace on device. It synced with the contacts on my exchange server, therefore deleting all the contacts on the 2nd TP. How can I undo this? (I don't have a backup)

Bummer ... In theory, the only way to get them back on your device is to recreate the process that got them on there to begin with.

It doesn't help now, but this is a big reason to use PIM backup to ... backup your contacts on a regular basis.

Problem solved, the contacts were on another computer so I just sync it with that computer. Man, why couldn't MS come up with an undo button?

That why I don't sync contacts with Outlook. Mircrosoft apparently didn't think to handle the situation of merging contacts that is already on your device.

So syncing contacts with Outlook would only work if you had no contacts on your device to start with.
