Re: Linux/Android on CDMA Touch Pro (RAPH800) - ALPHA (buggy. as. hell.)

Ok, the APN settings got my data working with sprint, but the market store will not download anything. Gets stuck at "starting download"

This is strange because it did connect to my google account and the app seems to work correctly - shows me all of the programs, tells me google maps has an update, etc, but once I try to download it gets stuck.

Any Ideas?

Why is "Silent" the only ringtone listed after I installed today's new version?

Edit: scratch that, I let it sit for a while and now the list is full of the default ringtones again.

I'm still booting it so I'll put more info up in a bit.

It is a nice system!
Once booted, I have no marketplace icon. Where can I download the MarketPlace application?
Thanks!

I'm not sure where the doc actually is, but there is a doc that instructs you to copy the .apk files to the root of the AndroidApps folder... you'll see what I mean.

As for your first question, I would format the SD card completely and use a _fresh_ copy of everything. Then grab the RAPH800 startup.txt from the STARTUPS folder.

Thanks, I started fresh, copied the latest modules and kernel last, and Im up and running. Rebooting now to put those files in the AndroidApps dir.

Thanks!

I noticed few issues with 2/4 build
1. battery says 5% charging all the time.. How can i correct it?
2. Switching from wireless mode to data under settings causes the phone to reboot.. I think it is crashing..
3. Switching from data mode to wireless also crashes
4. Finally the phone gets very hot compared to running wm 6.1. Any insights to fix this?

Yes, start a call before launching Haret,or install call&droid.

Call&roid (thanks to Jamen Lang)
If you want a program that'll dial a call and then launch HaRET, Jamen Lang has made a mortscript that'll do it. He's also made it into a cab file to install. You can grab it here:

http://files.vcn.com/PPC/call&roidv2.cab

You can launch this program, and it will start a call to voicemail, then launch haret from your storage card, so you don't have to manually do that. (Doing so is necessary to get audio on phone calls working in Android.)
