Cool! I haven't had much time to play with this project lately... been ridiculously busy @ home and @ work. Hopefully I'll have some downtime tonight to play with this... but somehow I doubt it!

[QUOTE=x4osw0n;1806358]So I have uploaded a copy of my working version from my verizon 500 (XV6850):

http://drop.io/oibsgic

i tried to do this but getting the following error :
" mout: mounting / dev/block/mmoblk0p1 /sdcard failed : Invalid argument
failed
failed to mount the sd card. Cannot continue
/vin/sh: can't access tty; hiv control turned off "

any one knows what can be causing this ?

it always worked, but iirc it was originally encrypted and could only be read by vz apps. the 2.x ROM update (more specifically, the PRI inside) changed this; it should feed identical data to raph800.

Of course, the big drain is the cdma radio, and that's a long way from getting optimized -- but every other step in the right direction is good, too.

to clarify here - this is only my experience - but the cdma radio hasnt given me such a draw, its the evdo radio killing the battery. disable it in winmo (settings, personal, phone options actually send radio commands; these hold for linux) and try for yourselves.

Agreed, maybe try one of the android apps that disables the data connection when not in use like DataOnDemand. Also, dzo had written a service programming APK for vogue. I haven't seen the source but he'd probably be willing to share... it might be modified to work with other phones.

Format your SD card using the HP format tool. Backup any data on the card before doing so, and load a fresh copy of that build on the card after the wipe.

I don't know if it is a typo, but there is a space between the / and dev/blockmmoblk0p1 which (I don't think) should be there. If that was passed to the mount command, it wouldn't be surprising for it to complain about invalid arguments.

Perhaps there is an extra space in your startup.txt ?

If that space was just a typo in your message, then the other problem (I think) is that "mmoblk0p1" should be "mmcblk0p1" The "o" should be a "c", as in "mmc"

Again that might just be a typo in your posting.

I was wondering, how do I go about adding my own custom wallpapers to the library? It seems to just pick a select few from a list. Is there any way to tell it where to pick files?

Also, I've noticed in my attempts to set a custom wallpaper, when I tried downloading an image file through the browser, I get an error saying the file is not supported. The file in question is a 900x590 JPEG image. Is this just the browser's limitation?

I think many of us have found the wallpapers to be oddly finicky. I downloaded the app 'Backgrounds' from the market. It's ugly ... but it's free and it's got a bunch of good (pretty, but unobtrusive) backgrounds to choose from (as well as some pretty intrusive ones). I haven't spent any time trying to set downloaded images as wallpaper, though, so I'm not much help there.

Definitely a typo. He's not mounting the card manually... that's just the debug message that he's transposing from the terminal. If he wipes the card I bet it'll be fine.
