Can you at least take the time to read the FIRST post? I understand not reading the entire 140+ page thread, but c'mon... take the time to read that first post.

Plus the newest kernel + rootfs oc'd to 680 works pretty well for me! Any reason to not switch to 2.1?

Thank you, you have all been a great help getting this up and running on my phone. My keyboard issue was solved by....a new phone from Sprint. It was the keyboard I guess since all I did was run it off the same microsd card on the new phone.

I'm using this too. It works well. No BT at all, and I can't seem to install anything from the Market or otherwise. It always says installation fails.

Otherwise, It works well.

You may want to read that article...

Basically, aGPS is assisted by cell towers to speed up triangulation, or allow a fix to occur when only two sats are acquired.

This is different from the cell-tower based location in the sense that it only uses the cell tower information to provide GPS. All cell towers are equipped with GPS for timing among other things - and this is the information that it's relaying.

So it's not truly GPS or even aGPS. Your phone is NOT using GPS satellites to get a direct fix on your location. Does that make sense now?

The reason I'm convinced it's not using GPS is the devs have not sorted out how to get the information from the GPS receiver to Android. They need a driver for the linux kernel, and to my knowledge have not made much progress on it. Essentially if linux isn't understanding the hardware, Android will never get any information from it.

thanks for clearing that up. i never thought it was direct though, that's why i didn't try any navigation with it. it was just nice to use on the few apps i was using that i didn't need accuracy to x feet to be effective.

Agreed, I wish it would work for me... a vague location is better than none. I'm hoping GPS will fall next, but I have a feeling the camera will be the next device worked out.

BT still has some work as well... but the builds are getting better and better, a big thanks devs!

Good to meet you too. Hopefully we can get 2.1 going as far as 2.0.1
BTW, are you able to turn on BT?

Newest Rootfs. Overclocked to 680. Battery life is about the same.
