Do i need a stock rom to transfer service?

I upgraded my TP to a Moto Droid online. I'd like put the Tp to her line so she can have a smartphone, too. I have the Silence ROM on it. If I call verizon to switch the phones, do I need to have the stock ROM installed?

I'm not on Verizon, but honestly I doubt it. Anything they tell you to do as far as programming/activating it will be in the utilities brought up by the ## codes, so as long as your ROM/dialer support those, then you should be good to go.

i agree as long as your phone codes ## works then you will be ok. if not find a cab that will enable them for you.

nope. all you need to do is have the ESN and be able to dial *228. of course you will also have to have data added to her plan before they will activate it.
