Re: Unblock Microphone
NO... its one or the other.. you can hear the voices through your speakers sure, but with a wired cord, you have no MIC... Bluetooth can maybe do what you want, but not a wired cord..

Re: Unblock Microphone
Actually, it might be possible, but it would probably involve building a custom cable that wouldn't short the mic pin in the ExtUSB port, which is likely more trouble than its worth.

Re: Unblock Microphone
he wouldnt be using the usb port if hes pluggin it into the aux of his car stereo.. hed be using the 3.5mm jack i assume and having to use the dongle as well... i do this to play music through my cars tape deck using the old cd player cassette adapter.... everytime my phone rings, it all plays through my speakers, have to unplug to talk though
tons of people have asked this in the yr plus of the TP, if it was possible, the solution would be online... and im sure if a custom cable was the solution, thatd be online too, just like the custom TVOUT cable instructions are posted online too |

Re: Unblock Microphone
According to the pinout diagram, wires don't overlap. So, mic is disabled through software means most likely.
I have a mic and speakers hooked up to my car, so I'm not using built-in microphone. |

Re: Unblock Microphone
mic seems unusable with Bluetooth connection/implementation to car sterio as well...
But what I do is link the "music device" and not allow the "phone" and I get best of both worlds this way, plus there is one benefit, when someone calls, your listening to music from the bluetoooh, the music is muted... I then place phone to my ear and talk. When I was trying the BT with phone, nobody could hear me. Some nicer BT to FM radio converters have a built in microphone. My solution is the Pro2, allow music to BT to BT enabled radio (Sony cd deck already in place) and flip the phone face down when ansewering the call, using the speakerphone built into the TP2. |
