Opera Mobile/Skyfire not connecting to network

I recently upgraded to the latest Energy ROM on my Touch Pro. Since then I've installed Opera Mobile 10.5 and Skyfire 1.5. Neither of them are able to connect to the network (Opera Mobile does work over WiFi, haven't tested Skyfire). Opera Mini, IE, and other network enabled apps work fine. I'm pretty sure these apps worked under the Mighty ROM I previously had installed.

I'm on MetroPCS and all the setting seem to be correct (supported by the fact other apps work). Any thoughts on what I'm missing?

Re: Opera Mobile/Skyfire not connecting to network

So no thoughts or ideas on why some apps can connect to the data network and others can't? Just to add to the confusion Opera 9.7 (or whatever version that comes with the ROM) can connect to data network.

What am I missing here?

I think you need to install a carrier cab. I'm not really sure where to find one for metro though

Re: Opera Mobile/Skyfire not connecting to network

I am also on metro, and can't get the new skyfire or opera 10 to work through data connection either. Both do work when using wifi.

Maybe it is their software...I couldn't figure it out. The older Opera and Skyfire does work.

BTW, i am using SSK rom.

Re: Opera Mobile/Skyfire not connecting to network

I don't know if this will help but this was in the Vogue forum for web and mms settings for metro. It might be worth a look :

Maybe you can compare the settings with what you've got.

Re: Opera Mobile/Skyfire not connecting to network

@horndoctor, thanks for the posting...but the web, mms is working-not the problem...since IE, Opera 9.5, iris all work with its current settings...someone how the newer versions of Opera 10 and Skyfire doesn't seem to do so...the older versions do.

I saw other sites with similar postings with the same issues. No fix yet.
