character repeats indefinitely AND/OR hard keyboard stops responding

I have a couple of issues that seem to be related:

1) recently I have an intermittent problem where the hard keyboard stops respoding. The soft keyboard and touch screen still work though. Occasionally, the hard keyboard will resume, but most often I have to soft reset to get my hard keyboard to work again.

2) I will be typing and I will get to a character (letter/number/space) and the device will simply repeat this character forever and nothing can make it stop except for a soft reset. (most often on hard keyboard, but I think it's done it to me with the soft keyboard but not 100% sure of that). It would look like thissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss (and the "s" would keep repeating forever.

I was running the latest version of Mighty Rom and it worked fine for quite a while and then this behavior started. So I put on a different ROM (RSTG Sense 2.5) and still have the keyboard not responding and the repeating character issue... So hard reset and a different ROM wasn't necessarily the answer.

Any idea what might be causing this and what I can do to fix?

This is a known hardware issue with the TouchPro. Take it in for exchange.

yup, like stated above... exchange it.... your looking at a free TP2, if the store has em in stock and thats what you want, since TP1 refurbs arent allowed to be givin out by Corp Sprint Stores or by CS reps on the phone since OCT/10th...

...however, they can fix the KB onsite..if they have the part available, theyll just swap your KB.. if they dont, hope enjoy your new upgrade lol

Crap, I just started getting this a few days ago out of the blue on my TP (only bought it in May). Problem is, when applying the Zagg body protector for my phone I didn't think to cover the water sensor sticker inside the battery cover and it got wet. Although as the owner I know that the phone definitely was not damaged (phone was off, battery removed, let it dry for the full 12 hours before re-assembling) I'm guessing the warranty guys aren't going to care.

Am I pretty much screwed then?

Ok this might seem like a stupid question but how can you tell a corp store from an independent store.

Hey im having this same issuse but my question is should i relock and reflash back to sprint rom before taking it in for them to fix it or should i go in with it unlock and ass with custom rom?

consider yourselves "lucky" i am having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. and i too thought it was a rom issue so after doing the flash dance and all that crap, still the same issue. i found sometimes hitting the space bar and the delete key allow the keyboard to work temporarily. my problem is i didnt want a gimped zw touch pro so i have my sprint tp on verizons network. So im pretty much screwed. im trying to save some money up and get a vz tp and do an insurance claim i guess. i dont know. anyone have any suggestions for those of us on vz with a sprint tp. and no funny answers either lol you guys know what i mean lol
