+1 to the above. I didnt have to renew my contract when I added insurance. It was actually quite painless. I called, told them I would like insurance on both of my lines (they were pre-existing lines), and the guy gave me the quick rundown of costs and deductibles. Then he said since the phones are not new, there would simply be a 30 day waiting period from the start of the insurance before I could make any claims. Entire process took about 10 minutes, and was easy.

Although, I dont remember if they pro-rate your insurance (example: starting the insurance in the middle of a billing cycle). I dont think they did, they just added the full $7 charge to the next bill that was due.

You don't have to re-up your contract, Sprint will NOT prorate your insurance charge, and it's actually 20 days after the date that you start your insurance that you can begin to make claims if necessary. (If they choose to deny coverage (which I don't see why they would), they have to notify you no later than 20 days from when you start it). You can only claim the phone that you have activated as well.

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise

+1 to all.
From the replies, it seems that I can tether and the TP comes with the Internet sharing program. And I don't need to load any other programs or registry hacks to tether.
Also, I can add insurance to a used phone without extending my contract.
If I am wrong, please feel free to correct me.
Thanks to all that replied.

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise

Well almost

You cant really "stealth" tether a stock rom Touch Pro. You would need to install the tethering cab if your running a stock rom. Its in the Stickies above. Really easy to do, and it works great on stock roms. I used to run it on my stock ROM quite a bit. Stealth tethering allows you to tether your phone without having to pay for the crazy high tethering or PAM fees. Just dont go crazy with it, and try to download the entire internets and you will be fine

But, if you flash one of the custom roms from the CDMA upgrade forum, most (if not all) will already have the "stealth" tethering built in to the rom.

But, everything else you nailed! Have fun!
