Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
yes it can tether, and the heat issues can be helped by reflashing the radio and the rom.

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
I just got the TP also, the phone was locked and had sprint stock rom which did have phone as modem.
not sure if you can add the wmwifirouter.cab while the phone is locked, but if you can, just find it here and install. Or PM me and I'll e-mail you the .cab I have.

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
you can get the TP covered but i think you'd have to enroll it during open enrollment for insurance!
its a good phone. I'm preferred the buttons of the mogul but it's still a good phone

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
It's a good phone and everyone's experience is going to vary. Some had overheating and KB issues while others did not. As far as the insurance, you have 30 days from the date of activation to get it insured, so do it soon.

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
don't the phone I start the insurance need to be a new phone? don't they need proof that it is new and not a used phone?

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
you shouldn't have to extend your contact if you get insurance.
and you have to wait 30 days after you get insurance before you file a claim. So you can't activate your phone today, get insurance next week and then claim damage 20 days later, its 30 from insurance date |

+1 to the above. I didnt have to renew my contract when I added insurance. It was actually quite painless. I called, told them I would like insurance on both of my lines (they were pre-existing lines), and the guy gave me the quick rundown of costs and deductibles. Then he said since the phones are not new, there would simply be a 30 day waiting period from the start of the insurance before I could make any claims. Entire process took about 10 minutes, and was easy. Although, I dont remember if they pro-rate your insurance (example: starting the insurance in the middle of a billing cycle). I dont think they did, they just added the full $7 charge to the next bill that was due.

Re: Sprint touch pro - need opinion and advise
You don't have to re-up your contract, Sprint will NOT prorate your insurance charge, and it's actually 20 days after the date that you start your insurance that you can begin to make claims if necessary. (If they choose to deny coverage (which I don't see why they would), they have to notify you no later than 20 days from when you start it). You can only claim the phone that you have activated as well.
