Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
I have the same problem. I always get angry callers on my voicemail yelling at me to answer my damn phone, when it never even rang to begin with on my end.

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
O.K.....I've got the original ROM and have only installed a couple of cabs for applications. Nothing affecting the operating system.
If I call my cell number from my landline, the cell number rings as I hear the second ring on the landline. With that said, earlier today when I had my landline call forwarded to the cell number, someone called me and according to the caller, it went to voicemail on the second ring. I heard the cell phone ring one time. Frankly, I think if you returned the phone to stock you'd eliminate most of your problem. Even then, I think there is something that in my case doesn't handshake with the cell tower until after the first ring and by then the call's gone to voicemail. Did you say that you can somehow get Verizon to not send calls to voicemail until after more than 2 rings? That may solve my problem. |

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
Well I have heard that landline calls ring quicker. Have your tried calling from a cell phone? I'd sure hate to have to return to the stock rom, especially if I wasn't sure it would fix the problem.
Verizon up'ed the ring count (on the callers side) to 7 rings but they said they could not make it permanent and it returned back to normal. If they could make it stick, I'd be fine. I'm getting really freakin' annoyed now. |

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
Did not try a cell phone to cell phone call. But my friend who called this morning was calling from an AT&T cell phone and she said it only range twice before going to voicemail.
How do you go about changing the ring count before going to voicemail? I think I'd try having someone else on the Verizon cell system to call you and see if it goes quicker. It might have to do with what system the caller is using to call you. If that doesn't disclose the problem, I'd think you might have to start over with the stock ROM and check the ring count each time you change something until you find the culprit. Sorry. |

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
I have service on 2 Verizon phones and one Nextel. They all have the same result when calling.
I just tried calling from my office phone and the same also. I am going to post on C-Fay's rom thread and see if anyone is having this issue before I hard reset or flash back to the stock rom. Thanks for trying to resolve this. I will post an update if I get any info. I am also going to call Verizon back and talk with someone else. The guy who helped me didn't know much. Oh, and to answer your question about reseting the number of rings: Verizon said that they had to set it on their end and then you'll have to call #228 and press 1 to program the phone. |

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
Now that I think about it, this did not start until I installed S2U2 v2.14. I tried it and it didn't work very well so I removed it, but maybe some of the registry values were changed and didn't reset after removal. Is this possible? I guess I'm going to try a hard reset tonight and see if that does it. If anyone knows the registry location and values for this setting please let me know. I hate having to work on my phone for hours after a hard reset. Thanks

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
After some research, I found that the dialer/skin might be the culprit along with the amount of contacts in the memory. It lags on the dialer. It does seem that this could be happening because of the way it wakes up and waits so long to ring. One solution would be to use the WM dialer which causes a few different problems. I don't really think it's my rom that's doing it. Apparently this was a big problem with the TP1 and Diamond as well as several other WM devices. I will keep working on it.

Re: Please help with a delayed ring problem
This probably wont make a difference, but under Phone Settings;Roaming turn off call guard and under DDTMode set DDTMode to off
