I think our GPU is better than the iphone 3gs why?
Remember: Our phones have over twice the resolution as the iphone, This brings me back to my computer gaming days lowering the res to squeeze out more FPS.

Honestly, I haven't noticed much of a difference between stock and any of the other drivers out there. So no, it's not necessary to install them but it could help by a few fps.

Here's the data sheet for the MSM7200, which the diamond through touch pro2 use: http://www.ent.eet-china.com/PDF/200..._RFR_AN_01.pdf It quotes the graphics card as having 4 million 3D triangles per second, and 133 million 3D textured pixels per second fill rate. My experience with the best 3d software for our phones is that it's comparable to what the iphone 3g can do, so it can be done if developers have an incentive to put the time and resources into the development.
