Error 246 - Tilt 2 (Rhodium)

Hello,

I am trying to unlock my HTC Tilt2 (Rhodium), using the Rhodium Hard-SPL(GSM) unlocker. I continue to receive the error message indicating a communication problem (Error 246). Can someone please make a few suggestions. This phone is GSM and my carrier is AT&T. I am using Windows 7 (64Bit) as my operating system, and have disabled Symantec Endpoint Protection (RU5); I've also made an exception for the executable of the unlockr tool.
As per instructions that I've read, I did the following:
1. Removed Simm card.
2. Removed SD card.
3. Disabled Symantec (RU5)
4. Launched the MS Mobile Device Center, and verified connectivity.
5. Ran the "Rhodium-HardSPL_V1_20R2.exe" . I continue to get error 246 indication a communication error using both the "Automatic" and "Manual" flash.


Note: ONCE on my phone I received a message indicating that RUU was trying to run on my machine. I confirmed, but nothing happened after that. The message never appeared again on my phone.


Can anyone enlighten me?

QQ: Do I have to have .NET 3.5 installed on my OS?

BOY do I feel kinda silly right about now. It seems that I was using "Rhodium-HardSPL_V1_20R2". When I should have downloaded "Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3". Let me give it another shot.

lol Well, we were all noobs once! I suggest just flashing a few and see what you like. There are a few gsm roms in the gsm upgrades forum here and a few over on xda. Hit the thanks if I helped.

Same think. Immediate "fatal error" on "Automatic", and "Error 246" on "Manual"

AM I supposed to take out the SIMM card? I saw on a tutorial that I should as well as the SD chip.

Did you upgrade Windows Mobile Device Center to 6.1 first? Gotta make sure you follow all the steps.

MDC is at 6.1,

I put the file on the phone and ran it. Now the phone is locked up.

Any suggestions?

Yes, my suggestion is reread the post at XDA before doing anything else. You need a different file for the manual process, which is attached to the post over there.

Here are the notes from there about it:
NOTE 3: anyone having USB problems with the device after it entered SSPL mode, please copy SSPL-Manual-Rhodium.exe from SSPL-Manual-Rhodiumxxx.zip attachment in this post, copy it to the device and run it. then once the screen has gone black, run the Hard-SPL package on the PC and you must select Manual flash option. *important*: make sure that the USB cable is plugged in and device is synced to Windows Mobile even if doing manual method.
