Re: Best GPS Software for TP2
Has anyone ever gotten Sprint Navigation to work effectively? I never used to use it because required subscription fees, but I kind of like some of the features and would like to able to use it.

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2
I just thought I would upload the GPS Gate installer application in case anyone wanted it.
This will install a trial, and I do believe it has a link to purchase, I can't remember for sure, and mine is already activated. Last edited by proimageprints; 01-04-2010 at 05:00 AM. |

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2
I have never had luck with TomTom on my TP2 with anything but the stock rom. It laggs like no other no matter which version I use so I switched to Garmin XT and so far it seems to work great. I prefer TomTom. If anybody can share how they get it working then please share.

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2
Ok, I finally tried iGuidance. It works very well (a little lag) and has TTS. The only drawback is it is only QVGA and VGA, no WVGA. This makes navigating the menus a tad difficult....
Screen02.jpg The blue area is the actual native screen size. The buttons have shifted in an attempt to fill the screen. Screen01.jpg (note the menu button in the bottom-left corner) I like the simple organization and ease of use. Easy POI look-up system. The package even announces when I enter a school zone. Can anyone create a WVGA skin for this? I currently use iGo8, but iGuidance could give it a bit of competition.

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2
I've ditched Co-pilot for Igo8 and so far it's been good but sometimes it tells me to go left but when it's really stay on the left lane then go straight. Luckily I was looking at the map at the same time. Overall it's good. Maps are pretty updated and have not encountered missing roads or POIs. The only thing I can't get to work is TTS. I've tried so many TTS versions and was very time consuming trying to get it to work. I've given up on it. I realized it's not so much of a big deal as long as I can still look at the map and see the road I'm supposed to turn into etc.

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2
I have searched and havent found much luck on this one:
Anyhow have suggestions for a good GPS program with TOPO maps? For backpacking and such. I would rather use my phone then a garmin if I didnt have to buy one. |

I use copilot live 8. TTS works fine.
