With the Verizon standard PRL, I still get popups with MightyROM 01.09.2010. With my modified PRL fix, haven't had a Voice only pop-up yet!

I was planning on starting a whole new thread just for my PRL fix once other users confirm that it works. I'm confident it does, but it never hurts to make sure!

You are correct. With all the changes with the Alltel integration its likely a newer PRL is needed for EVDO in your area.

I found from searching that we can just as easily update the ERI, like the PRL. Dial ##374 Talk. Problem is I need a VZW ERI for our phones. Then we need to see if reloading the VZW ERI as is fixes the problem. If not, then we change the "Extended Network" entry to roaming indicator off, and I believe our problem is solved and everyone will be able to download current and future PRLs without modification. I'm going to work on this over the weekend as I don't have QPST installed as I need to reinstall it. Wish me luck.

Also, there is a new Verizon OEM update with 6.5 that has been discovered and posted in the CDMA ROMs sub-forum. It has an updated radio and I think it may have a newer ERI file. It shows ERI version 5 in the screenshots. I've got Mighty installed right now and it doesn't have the ERI info in its Device Info so I'm not sure what ERI we're using with it. If anyone wants to try, and I will to, I'm going to flash to the OEM 6.5 to get the new radio and then flash back to Mighty and see if we still have the pop-up with a current PRL (shows "Extended Network).

If you get 3xxxx or 4xxxx from *228, then you are on a grandfathered Alltel plan. The PRL I am modifying is for current VZW Nationwide plans pushed to customers in Alltel markets or VZW markets neighboring and overlapping Alltel markets. The 6xxxx series is arguably the best to have for coverage.

You will probably be fine with my modded PRL since the Alltel PRLs are almost identical now. There is a small chance you could get roaming charges on small carriers that VZW roams on for free but Alltel didn't like some of Bluegrass Cellular in a few counties of Kentucky. That's the difference between Alltel's National Freedom and VZW's Nationwide.

Re: VERIZON users on Custom Rom's - NEW THEORY

NEW INFO: I am wrong. Verizon devides the ACCOLC calles in to 10 groups and you are simply assigned the last digit of your phone number in an attempt to end up with 10 even allocations.

Interesting info, so I am going to leave the post, but I do not expect it to help anyone.

THE ABOVE TEXT WAS AN EDIT - PLEASE IGNORE BELOW - IT SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT

Ok. New Theory:

I used to use a Sprint phone on the Verizon network and I used to battle with the constant roaming indicator. That sent me in to QPST on a hunch. I found that the NAM settings are different under custom ROM than stock ROMS.

I compared them line by line using QPST. Once again, I have no way to test, so I am going to need a tester.

Instructions:
  1. With your phone on dial ##778 - This launches EPST
  2. Put 000000 in as the access code.
  3. Select View Info --> NAM Settings
  4. Select the last line ACCOLC (Access Overload Class)http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...1&d=1263176806
  5. Select Menu -- Edit
  6. Change the value from 9 to 4 (Matches Verizon ROMs)
  7. Press OK -- Reset and let me know how it works.
