Re: Active sync broken? (never happened before)
I have found an occasional connection problem when the Bluetooth radio on my laptop gets turned off. It normally works again when it is turned back on and that normally works for me when I reset the laptop. In addition I have found that the Sync Center has to be running - check the task bar. I had to do a reinstall of the Sunk Center once.

Re: Active sync broken? (never happened before)
settings>all settings>connections>usbtopc>uncheck enable faster data......also from time to time you must restart your computer....mine does this occasionally and a restart of vista usually gets the job done.....but i have had to re-install active sync before as well....good luck..

Found this and unchecked "enable faster data"...and it started installing something right away and quickly synced. I don't know why it worked because it always worked before with it checked. More importantly for right now...I DON'T CARE. Thanks for the help. |

Re: Active sync broken? (never happened before)
I see others are having issues as well. I guess I didn't make it clear that I was referring to a wireless sync to my hosted exchange server. Funny thing is the uncheck faster data if your device isn't recognized option worked, but then stopped working after a few hours and it also seemed to disable my internet access. Have no idea why that happened. I rechecked the box for enable faster connection and all was fine again.
I since moved on to a diff Rom,(and no more issue btw) I hope those of you having issues also are able to resolve them. At least now I have an idea what or rather what not checking that box does. @sanjsrik, Thanks for the link to the explanation. Very informative. It still seems to pertain to a usb sync only tho. Have no clue why it worked for my wireless sync. Good info tho Last edited by cbreze; 11-25-2009 at 11:04 AM. |

Try the following: 1. Install process explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx) 2. Open it and make it default (this is just a suggestion) 3. Disconnect your device from your computer 4. From Process Explorer kill the following files: Rapimgr.exe wcescom.exe wcesmgr.exe Reconnect your device Restart Activesync. Most likely the Activesync connection got lost somewhere. Happens all the time, you're lucky it hasn't happened before to you. It's quite common. |
