Assigning Ringtones HTC Touch Pro 2

I just bought my TP2 and I have been trying to assign specific ring tones to specific people, but when I do, and that person calls me, my generic ring tone rings through. I need some help please.

So does the assigned ringtone just disappear then or what? If you go back into your contact, click edit is it gone? I've not had this issue. My assigned tones stay put as long as I enter them correctly. Not just one or two but all of them on your tp2 are disappearing? Strange. Sorry, don't know what to tell you except it could be a strange reaction to some app. Think back to what you installed.

Are you installing the ringtones on your sd card? If yes Is it connected to your computer in drive mode? if yes then your phone can't acces your sd card and defaults back to stock.

Edit: nevermind, I didn't read your post correctly. I have no idea.

No the ring tone stays put when it is assigned to the person. It just does not ring through the way it is supposed to. I dont know why it is doing that.

does it show the persons name when calling?

how is it suppose to ring through?

mp3, wav?

no it doesnt show the persons name when they are calling. It just shows their number.

i had this same problem....with 2.5 or 2.1 i couldnt assign any contact its own ringtone.....

You have to add a new contact but use a ten digit number and you will be able to assign a new ring tone.

Ok I have this issue 2... Thought maybe it was just with my photo contacts pro but every time I assign a ring to my default it will work for about an hour then flip back to ring - generic2 ... Any Suggestions? Custom ring is saved on device

Do you have a custom dialer installed? I had one that was messing with my photocontacts pro. I just removed the added dialer and now all is good.
