tp2 tv out problem? any help?

hey guys. i want to hook up my tp2 to my tv so i searched and found that the old trick for tp1 works. so i got the tp1 adapter with the 3.5 slot. opened it. cut the blue wire. and i had 2 cables laying around. 1 was my video camera cables. 3.5 to the the red yellow white cable. and i also had an "ipod" cable. but this cable was diffrent. it had the red yellow and white and than an adapter at the end with a 3.5 slot. so i had to connect from 3.5 adapter from phone to the 3.5 adapter on the end of the video cable with a 3.5 to 3.5 cable. the message came up about settings. selected NTCP or watever the heck its called. and nothing. i switched my cable of tv. trying the red and white as the video and still nothing. i had to pull the 3.5 plug a tad bit out the tp1 adapter for somethign to show on tv. you could kinda tell it was the same thing on the screen but it WAS REALLLLLYYY SHACKY AND STATICY just like nothing is connected. took that out and tried the video camera cable and that i had NO LUCK watso ever with.

any ideas? any help would be great.
