just to clear it up...
When I instal the hard spl unlocker for the verizon tp2 it wont hard reset and erase my data correct?

nope but it is recommended that you hard reset after flashing a custom ROM *i assume were talking about HSPL

Yes but no point in unlocking if you're not willing to reset the phone, it will reset when you flash a ROM.
